Privacy Policy

Cinevisor has no accounts, no sign-up and no advertising. This policy explains the small amount of data it does handle, and it is written to be read rather than to cover us.

The viewfinder never uses the network

Framing, framelines, field-of-view matching, the depth-of-field calculation and your projects all run on the device. None of it is sent anywhere. You can use the whole viewfinder in airplane mode.

What happens when you tap Render

An AI render is the one part of Cinevisor that needs a server, because generating the image takes compute the phone doesn't have. When you tap Render:

• The captured frame is downscaled and sent over an encrypted connection to our service, which passes it to a third-party AI image provider along with the description of the look you asked for.
• The rendered image comes back to your phone and is stored there, in your app.
• Your photo is not written to our database and is not retained by our service after the render finishes. We have configured the providers we use so that they do not store the image beyond what is needed to process the request, and their paid API tiers do not train models on customer content.

Before the very first upload, the app asks for your permission in plain language and explains that the photo will be sent to a third-party AI service. Nothing is uploaded until you accept. If you never tap Render, no photo ever leaves your phone.

What we do store

To run the credit system and to stop abuse of the service, our server keeps the following, tied to an identifier rather than to you personally:

• An app-transaction identifier from Apple. This is a signed token that identifies your copy of the app for your Apple Account. It carries no name, email or payment information, and we cannot use it to contact you or to look you up anywhere. It is what lets your credits survive changing phones or reinstalling.
• Your credit balance and purchase records — which pack you bought and when, so that credits can be granted once and restored later.
• A log line per render: the time, which provider was used, and whether it succeeded, was refused by the safety filter, or failed. This is what enforces the rate limits and the refund on failure. It does not include your image or your prompt.
• The record of your consent and the version of the text you accepted.
• Reports you send us about a render, if you use the report button: the reason you picked, anything you wrote, and the prompt used. The image is not sent with the report.

What we never collect

• Your name, email address, phone number or physical address — unless you email us yourself.
• Your payment details. Purchases go through Apple; we never see a card number.
• Your location. Location captured with a shot stays on your device with the shot.
• Your contacts, your photo library, or anything else on the phone.
• Advertising or tracking identifiers. Cinevisor contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, and nothing in the app tracks you across other companies' apps or websites.

Who else is involved

• Google and, as a fallback, other image-model providers, process the frame to produce the render.
• Supabase hosts our service and the database holding the records listed above.
• Apple handles all purchases and, if you turn on iCloud, the sync of your own projects, which we cannot read.

We do not sell data to anyone, and there is nothing here that would be worth selling.

How long things are kept

Photos: not retained after the render. Credit balances and purchase records: for as long as the credits exist, because deleting them would delete credits you paid for. Render log lines and reports: up to 24 months. You can ask us to delete everything tied to your app-transaction identifier — see below — and we will, with the caveat that any unused credits go with it.

Your rights

Crooster Inc. is a Canadian company based in Toronto, Ontario. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted — including under Quebec's Law 25, Canada's PIPEDA, the UK and EU GDPR, and California's CCPA. Write to support@cinevisor.com and we will answer. Because we do not hold your name, please write from the device in question or tell us how to identify your records.

Children

Cinevisor is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

About the renders

Images produced by the AI look are generated, not photographed. They are a visualization of how a scene could be lit and should not be presented as a record of what was actually there.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, ask for your consent again inside the app.
